La Pine Performing Arts Department will present Disney’s Tarzan. Step into the wild and swing into the heart of adventure with Disney’s Tarzan! The stage musical that captivates audiences of all ages with its blend of heartwarming themes and exhilarating spectacle. Set against the lush backdrop of the jungle, this enchanting production tells the timeless tale of love, acceptance, and the bonds that define family.

Based on Disney’s epic 1999 animated musical adventure and Edgar Rice Burrough’s Tarzan of the Apes, Tarzan features heart-pumping music by rock legend, Phil Collins. Washed up on the shores of West Africa, an infant boy is taken in and raised by gorillas who name him Tarzan. Apart from striving for acceptance from his ape father, Tarzan’s life is mostly monkey business until a human expedition treks into his tribe’s territory, and he encounters creatures like himself for the first time. Tarzan struggles to navigate a jungle, thick with emotion, as he discovers his animal upbringing clashing with his human instincts.

At its core, Tarzan is a poignant exploration of belonging and understanding, as the titular character navigates the complexities of his identity and discovers the true meaning of love through his connection with the spirited Jane. Their journey unfolds with  moments of tenderness and vulnerability, weaving a narrative tapestry that resonates deeply with audiences of all backgrounds.
