Identifying and Managing Weeds in Jefferson County

On Saturday April 30th from 10 to 11:30am at Madras City Hall council chambers, get an early jump on weed identification and management from local authors Penny Radtke and Marilynne Keyser from the Friends and Neighbors of the Deschutes Canyon Area (FANs). They have recently published ‘The NEW Guide to Common Weeds of the Deschutes Canyon Area’. Also joining the presentation will be Jefferson county’s Weed Warrior, Gary Clowers of Raven Research. There will be a slideshow presentation and plenty of time for questions and answers. Following the indoor presentation, for those who would like to identify some current weed specimens “in the flesh”, there will be a short walk led by Gary Clowers at Madras Garden Depot.
Copies of ‘The NEW Guide to Common Weeds of the Deschutes Canyon Area’ book are available locally at Black Bird Tea & Tales, located at 191 S 5th Street. They are open Wed-Fri , from 11 to 6 and Saturdays from 11 to 5
