Writers Writing – Poetry Works for Every Writer

September 28, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Play with language to make your writing come alive.

This is an in-person program. Registration is required.

From a craft point of view, poetry brings a lot to the table; concision, great language, momentum. A whole tool shed of writing techniques. Join Irene Cooper for a poetry workshop that will stock your kitbag with ways to make your writing – poetry or prose – come alive.

Irene Cooper is the author of the novel Found, finalist for the Next Generation Indie Book Awards, Committal, poet-friendly spy-fy about family, & spare change, finalist for the Stafford/Hall Award for poetry. Her writings appear in Denver Quarterly, The Feminist Wire, The Rumpus, streetcake, Witness, & elsewhere. Irene supports AIC-directed creative writing at a regional prison, teaches in the MFA program at OSU-Cascades, is co-founder and instructor for The Forge online creative writing program, & currently serves as an editor for Airlie Press. Irene lives with her people & Maggie in Oregon. irenecooperwrites.com
