Publishing involves various relationships between parties who have different roles with different obligations, rights, and expectations. The presentation will discuss the basic differences and primary concerns regarding agreements between writers and their agents, publishers, co-authors, illustrators, and publicists.
Bert Krages is an attorney in Portland who primarily concentrates on intellectual property issues such as copyrights, trademarks, patents, and publishing. In addition to his legal practice, he serves an ambassador for the Portland Chapter of the Authors Guild. Bert is recognized nationally as an advocate of the right to take photographs in public places and has appeared in media such as National Public Radio’s Morning Edition, Popular Photography, Shutterbug, and Wired.
