What’s Brewing: Local Entrepreneurship

Did you know that Oregon ranks fourth among the best U.S. states for entrepreneurial success in 2025? That’s according to a Business News This Week study. It’s no wonder that Bend’s entrepreneurial spirit runs deep—but what truly fuels it? Join us for a lively evening exploring how bold ideas, local grit, and strategic investment are shaping the future of Bend’s business landscape.
We’ll hear from Jonathan Taylor with the Bend Urban Renewal Agency (BURA), which helps fund projects in designated investment areas to remove blight, improve property values, and attract private investment. He’ll share how the city is using tools like urban renewal to create the conditions for local entrepreneurship to thrive.
Plus, learn firsthand about the experiences and journeys of main street businesses like Cruizzy, Somewhere That’s Green, Collective Pallet, and Bleu Bite Catering—each rooted in the spirit of entrepreneurship, from neighborhood pop-ups to a catering company that began in a home kitchen.
As always, the first beer is on us and is included in the price of admission.
