Friday, May 17th welcomes critically acclaimed composers and co-leaders, Ruthie Dineen and Andrew Lion, of large-format group, Negative Press Project, with a retrospective and presentation of new music as An Evening with D/L Quintet at Robert Sposato’s ‘Jazz at One World Center’ (Unity Spiritual Community Central Oregon).
The band features –
Ruthie Dineen on piano and keyboard
Andrew Lion on bass
Joel Behrman on trumpet
Luke Broadbent on guitar
Adam Carlson on drums
And special guest – Tom Bergeron on tenor saxophone
D/L QUINTET is a sub-group of Negative Press Project, the large-format jazz/indie-art/post bop inspired original music collective originally from Oakland, California and driven by bassist Andrew Lion and pianist Ruthie Dineen.
The pair released The Victorious Sessions, their first album since 2019’s Within, winter of 2023 on Ridgeway Records and an exclusive translucent-teal vinyl version on Envelopmental Music Records February 2.
