“Song of Sunset” – Short Film Premiere and Songwriters in the Round

Tickets are now available for the premiere screening of the highly anticipated short documentary film  “Song of Sunset,” by Brian Craig Hinderberger is set for Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Volcanic Theatre Pub. The event will be followed by a special Nashville-style “songwriters in the round” performance featuring the film’s stars Erin Cole-Baker, Eric Leadbetter, and Joel Chadd.

Filmed across Bend’s most iconic small stages, Song of Sunset: “In My Day” is a heartfelt documentary that celebrates the intimate spaces and shared rituals that bring people together at day’s end. The film spotlights two community-loved venues—M&J Tavern’s open mic and Volcanic Theatre Pub—alongside three of Oregon’s most beloved independent singer-songwriters.

“Song of Sunset is a story shared across communities everywhere,” said director Brian Craig Hinderberger. “It’s a celebration of the day’s end through music and the small, locally supported venues that bring warmth, connection, and life to our neighborhoods.”

The evening’s lineup includes a film screening followed by a live, in-the-round songwriter session where the featured musicians will trade songs and stories in the tradition of intimate Americana gatherings. The event will also serve as a fundraising opportunity to support music licensing and film festival submissions as the project heads into a wider release.
