Saunders Memorial Lecture – Archaeology and Science at the Paisley Caves

The Crook County Historical Society and Friends of the Crook County Library invite the public to the next installment of the Saunders Memorial Lecture Series at the Bowman Museum in Prineville. On Thursday, November 20 at 6:00 PM, renowned archaeologist Dr. Dennis Jenkins will present “Archaeology and Science at the Paisley Caves.”

Research at the world-famous Paisley Caves in south-central Oregon began in 2002 and continues today. Dr. Jenkins’ presentation features over 80 vivid slides highlighting one of North America’s oldest archaeological sites. Audiences will get an inside look at the ongoing scientific investigations conducted by researchers from around the world. Through an intimate exploration of time, food, health, labor, and technology, attendees will gain new insight into the lives—and challenges—of Oregon’s earliest inhabitants.
