Preparing to Love and Be Loved

Local best-selling self-discovery author Guy Finley will present a series of three talks on “Preparing to Love and to Be Loved” on Friday, December 13th at 7:00pm; Saturday, December 14^th at 11:00am; and Sunday, December 15th at 9:30am. The talks will be held at nonprofit Life of Learning Foundation in Merlin as part of their annual Spirit of the Holidays event. Each talk is different, and will be followed by a lively Q&A session.  Cost to attend the entire series is $49, which includes a Holiday feast with all the trimmings on Saturday, and all the replays and downloadable MP3 and MP4 files of the talks. For those who prefer to attend remotely, the three talks will be livestreamed for free. In the event you cannot watch the talk at the time presented, a downloadable replay package of the weekend talks will be available for $24.95. The beautiful old songs tell us that love makes the world go ‘round. Love is all we need. Love is the answer. True enough! But, so is the following: there are many kinds of love. So, when most of us hear these old songs, we think of one kind of love – romantic love. But sincere aspirants of the higher life seek something more: our heart of hearts longs to realize a conscious relationship with a Divine order of love, one that can’t be turned into some form of disappointment, or make us fall into despair, let alone live with the fear of its loss. Finley tells us this is the love our hearts long for the most. And to prepare ourselves to know this love is our primary purpose on earth.
