Plays Out Loud: “Grand Horizons”

February 5 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Participate in a hilarious and heartbreaking reader’s theatre on marital malaise.

Grand Horizons by Bess Wohl

It’s out with the old and in with the new (sort of). Over a quiet dinner for two, Bill and Nancy serenely decide to divorce after fifty years of marriage. While Nancy feels liberated and Bill seems unfazed, their adult sons Brian and Ben don’t exactly take it well. As the “kids” descend on the Grand Horizons senior living community to mediate, everything they thought they knew about their parents comes crashing down. Bess Wohl’s Tony-nominated comedy is a hilarious, heartbreaking commentary on marriage, family, and the wisdom that comes with age—or not.

Plays Out Loud

Have you ever wanted to dip a toe in the theatre world?  Participate in a low-stress reading of a play with script in hand, often called a “reader’s theatre”. We’ll take on characters from the play and read the script together from start to finish within 2-hours.  Beginners welcome in this low-stress theatre environment!

Cascades Theatrical Company

CTC laid the foundation for the theatre groups performing today, and it is the only volunteer-based community theatre. CTC’s mission is to enrich the Central Oregon community experience by bringing live theater, film arts, music, dance, and storytelling to their stage.  Learn more at https://cascadestheatrical.org/
