Parenting as a Highly Sensing (Sensitive) Person
October 5 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Learn about parenting as a highly sensing (sensitive) person!
This is an in-person program.
Are you overwhelmed, anxious, feeling like you don’t fit in, tired of hearing that you’re ‘too sensitive’, that you need to ‘let things go’ and ‘grow a thicker skin’? Do you react to things, and hold onto them, much more than others? Are you distracted and irritated by noises, others’ energy, crowds, smells or tags in your clothing? Do you feel like a doormat but feel guilty when you set a boundary? You just might be a Highly Sensing (Sensitive) Person (HSP).
If you’re a parent, this level of sensitivity can have many challenges. You can become overwhelmed and exhausted and feel like nothing you do is right or that you just don’t have the bandwidth for what you do, even when it is right. If your child is also highly sensing, you may focus your energy on her and forget yourself, or have different reactions and butt heads. If your child is not highly sensing, his behaviors might be very challenging to manage and you can feel ineffective or just overwhelmed…and also butt heads! Let’s talk about what it’s like to parent as an HSP, and learn some tips for managing so you can feel calmer and better enjoy your relationship with your child.
