Living With Wildfire: Are You Prepared?

Learn how to safeguard yourself, your home and neighborhood from the threat of wildfire in Central Oregon. The Summit West Neighborhood District is hosting two wildfire preparedness seminars with partner agencies to raise awareness and encourage Central Oregonians to take steps to mitigate wildfire risks this spring. The seminars will be held on March 28 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

VIRTUAL and IN-PERSON. FREE.  Register online at www.summitwestbend.org/living-with-wildfire. Open to the Central Oregon public.

Local experts will cover topics, including Home Hardening, Defensible Space and Fire-Smart Landscaping, Evacuation Readiness, and How to Become a Firewise Community.

This program is sponsored by the Summit West Neighborhood District in partnership with the Oregon State Fire Marshal, Oregon State University Extension Service, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office – Emergency Management, City of Bend Emergency Management, Bend Fire & Rescue, Oregon Department of Forestry, Project Wildfire Neighborhood Coalition, and Pacific Power Emergency Management.
