Know Flora & Fauna – Regenerative Viticulture at Arome

Learn how the flora and fauna impacts the wines we drink.

Space is limited and registration is required. 21+ IDs required.

Join us for an evening learning about regenerative agriculture in wine and how flora and fauna impact farming. We will try a few wines from around the world that are farmed regeneratively paired with light snacks and talk about the benefits of grazing animals, beneficial insects and promoting biodiversity in a vineyard.

Lydia DeRoss grew up in Central Oregon and currently lives in Redmond with her husband and three children. She came to the wine industry in 2021 after years of enthusiasm for wine. Lydia completed the WSET Level 2 certification in 2020, and the Oregon Wine Expert program in 2022. She is currently studying to become a Certified Specialist of Wine. Her passion is sharing her love of wine with other people and finding wines that excite and surprise them.

AJ Huey is a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers and a Sales Associate for Galaxy Wine Company, an Oregon based importer, wholesaler and distributor of fine wine. He is based in Redmond, Oregon and has a broad knowledge of Pacific Northwest Wines as well as wine regions around the world. Raised in Northern Indiana, AJ holds a degree in agronomy (soil science) from Purdue University. His passion for wine developed during his career in restaurant management and fine dining. He has worked at the acclaimed René Restaurant in Sedona, Arizona, and notable Central Oregon resorts, Brasada Ranch and Broken Top Club.
