In the Dark on Light Pollution in Oregon

April 23, 2025 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Free

Outside of our cities, Central Oregon and Southeastern Oregon still have some of the darkest and most starry skies in the lower 48 . We experience up to 300 days of sunshine per year, low humidity and high transparency for star gazing. But it turns out that light pollution is one of the easiest forms of pollution to eliminate! Learn what DarkSky Oregon is doing to preserve our night skies and what you can do to help; then, get some hints for star gazing and astro tourism opportunities in Central Oregon.
