Chef Billy McCallum’s career in Eugene, Oregon, began at the Treehouse restaurant, where he trained under a graduate of The Cordon Bleu, then worked as head chef until it closed in 1997. His patrons followed him to his restaurant Billy Mac’s, where they continued to adore his amiable personality and immense talent displayed in his nightly specials and countless catered events.
His well-deserved retirement has prompted his sister, Molly, to compile recipes and stories beginning with the opening of the Treehouse in 1977. Poignant and amusing tales of growing up in a restaurant and working with family woven in with over forty years of recipes will capture your attention, appetite, and heart.
