Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Derek Loeb for a geology hike at the 4,500-acre Priday Ranch. Explore basalt flows and tuff created by volcanic ash while you learn more about the geology of the region. We’ll hike up the canyon along Trout Creek to get a glimpse into what makes this property so incredible. Registration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event.
Hike Rating: This is a moderate ~4 mile hike off-trail, through grassy meadows, and along Trout Creek.
Route: This hike will start near the parking area and will include walking on roads and off-trail. Terrain will be uneven at times.
Elevation gain/loss: This hike is moderate with little elevation gain/loss.
What to Bring: Snacks/lunch, water, closed toe shoes. Dress for the weather.
