DBBA Flower Basket Ribbon Cutting

The Downtown Bend Business Association (DBBA) is inviting the public to a ribbon cutting for the flower baskets being hung up in downtown. Join us, Friday, June 17th, at 7am for the ribbon cutting at Brandis Square, next to Bank of America in Downtown Bend.
The DBBA is a non-profit organization in Downtown Bend. The organization is responsible for keeping downtown beautiful. One way they do so is through flower baskets during the Summer! This year, the Flower Basket Program has been open to the public to help fund the project.
Board member, Christine Davis said, “Usually the DBBA’s largest fundraiser, Bend Oktoberfest, is the primary funding source for the Downtown flower basket program, but due to COVID-19, we’ve been unable to host this fundraiser for the past two years.”
The cost of the Downtown Bend Flower Basket Program is $300 per basket, and with a total of 100 baskets needed, the total cost is $30,000 annually. This includes purchase, installing, water, fertilizing, rotating, and deadheading each basket from June to September (weather permitting).
So far, the community has come through! The DBBA needs $8,000 to reach its fundraising goals. It has been a great fundraiser for the community to give back to the heart of Bend, Downtown.
“We hope our monthly donation helps year round, and are happy to sponsor a flower basket,” Delia Paine, owner of The Bend Store, said. “They are a wonderful addition to downtown’s character. Got to have them!” Another flower basket sponsor, Chris Gentry said, “Thank you for giving the community the chance to give back!”
