Central Oregon High Desert Ham Fest

Saturday October 1st at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds

Are you a radio enthusiast or have you ever considered taking up radio communications for a hobby or to use while outdoors with friends?

The HiDARG HAM radio club of Central Oregon is hosting the first annual Central Oregon HAM fest. This is a place where you are encouraged to come and learn about radio communications. This is a fun hobby for all ages, families, groups, friends and just about everyone. We have vendors from all over the Pacific Northwest coming to share their radio knowledge, and products. You will have a chance to see how radio works, and talk to the pros. You will also get to try it out and see what you think. We will have stations set up that can transmit and receive from around the world!

The HiDARG radio club works many local events and beyond with emergency radio communications. We provide emergency radio communications where cell phones do not work. A few examples are the Pole Pedal Paddle, LOBOS motorcycle race, cross country horse races, dog sled races, King of the Kastle, alpine running and Mudslinger events just to name a few.

If you are interested in taking a test to become a licensed HAM you may do so here. Maybe you are already licensed and wish to upgrade to a more advanced level. We will have an examiner here to test in all areas.

Bring your kids, friends, parents! Most of us know a HAM or maybe you are a HAM. I encourage all to come and check it out!
