Cat and Dog Days of Summer Unity Event

This is a family-friendly event to celebrate our most popular animal companions, our cats and dogs.
On Saturday, August 13th, we’ll have an on-going showing of films featuring cats and dogs. Interspersed with the films, we’ll have a sing-a-long led by Victor Johnson; animal yoga; and a visit from the Humane Society. We’ll break for sandwiches midday.
Kids are invited to wear cat or dog costumes. There will be a contest to see whether cats or dogs rule to be determined by donations for the event that go into either the cat or dog jar.
The event will run roughly 10-5 (still being worked out) on Saturday and people can arrive throughout the day, at whatever time works. Registration is not required. A Schedule of events will be forthcoming.
On Sunday, at the 10 a.m. service, the topic is “Do Cats & Dogs Go to Heaven?” We will have a blessing of the animals that came on Saturday, with photos hung from clotheslines to represent the animals.
