Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Amy Sanchez for a bird walk at one of Central Oregon’s birding hot spots–Camp Polk Meadow Preserve. Learn techniques for using your ears (and technology!) to identify birds by sound alone. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around Hindman Springs and into the meadow as you learn about the birds that inhabit this Preserve. Registration is required and opens 1 month prior to the event.
Hike Rating: This is an easy ~1 mile hike on dirt roads and through grassy meadows.
Route: This hike will start at the Ochoco Preserve parking area, follow dirt roads, and also venture off-trail into meadows. Terrain will be uneven at times.
Elevation gain/loss: There is very little elevation gain/loss on this hike.
What to Bring: Binoculars (if you have them), snacks/lunch, water, closed toe shoes. Dress for the weather.
