Bend Labor History Conference

Free Labor History Conference to be held in the Brooks Room at the downtown Bend library, 601 NW Wall Street, Presentations will include “From Logging to Tourism” by University of Oregon history professor Steve Beda; “Central Oregonizing,” a 22-minute audio/visual history of unions at Bend’s sawmills by Radical Songbook podcaster Michael Funke; “Building the Immigrant Workers Rights Movement” by community organizer Greg Delgado; and “Organizing in Bend Today,” a panel discussion moderated by Renee Riuz, president of the Central Oregon Labor Chapter. Coffee and pastries donated by Strictly Organic. Sponsored by the Pacific Northwest Labor History Association and the Central Oregon Labor Chapter/AFL-CIO. Free to all.
