Beginner Sewing Machine Class

Are you a new sewist looking for help?

Space is limited and registration is required. This workshop is designed for customers 16+ years of age. Participants are encouraged to bring their own, working, sewing machine to the class.  A limited number of sewing machines are available for those that do not have their own.

This class is open for new sewists looking for some guidance through their first project. This class will be 2 hours long and will include a crash course sewing machine lesson, practice stitching, and then we will make an oven mitt from a second hand quilt! This is beginner friendly and more advanced sewists are of course welcome!

About the Instructor:

Madie is a nomadic seamstress from the upper peninsula of Michigan. She makes upcycled clothing and teaches sewing classes through her online community, on instagram, and in person. madie graduated from Northern Michigan University with a degree in environmental studies and sustainability and found her love for upcycling during her time there.
