Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

Co-Directors Heidi Spiker and Ann Boyd’s new adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s 1865 literary classic “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” is an ensemble production that theatrically brings Alice’s quest in Wonderland to life. Ten actors play Alice both individually and as a chorus as she strives to make sense of her dreamlike new reality. “Who am I” she asks and brings her curious mind and brave heart to meet this absurd world full of ridiculous riddles, rules and characters.

The ensemble will bring to life Beat Children’s Theater’s world premiere adaptation and develop ensemble skills, movement, song, puppetry and work with the compositional language of the nine Viewpoints. Actors will be challenged to make the wild and bizarre characters of Wonderland feel utterly “human” and authentic through exercises focused on character intentions, subtext, tactics, and vocal work.
