Addressing Sex Trafficking in Our Community
January 17 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Join this training by by the anti-trafficking project (or at:project) to learn indicators, myths, and how to respond.
This presentation will cover the dynamics of sex trafficking, including what risk factors and vulnerabilities are seen most often in victims. The primary goals of this training are to build empathy for survivors of sex trafficking, to instill ownership of this issue’s presence in our community, and to provide some action steps people can leave with to help address this.
During this training, we will show some videos that allow you to hear from survivors directly, as they share parts of their lived experience of being involved in sex trafficking. This training also encourages participation in the form of open discussions, to allow the group to process collectively what they noticed in hearing these survivor’s stories. Although no one is required to contribute in these discussions, we encourage participants to come prepared to share their thoughts and engage in group conversations that will be facilitated by the presenters.
Disclosure- this presentation shares stories that include sensitive topics such as substance abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault. Although it is left up to parental discretion, we recommend that youth do not attend this training unaccompanied.

This presentation is hosted by the anti-trafficking project, or at:project. The at:project is the only direct services provider in the tri-county area for sex trafficking. We work with victims and survivors of sex and labor trafficking to provide client-centered, trauma-informed care that ranges anywhere from crisis intervention to long-term case management services. All of our services are voluntary, free and confidential. Learn more at https://at-project.org/.
Anti-Trafficking Alliance of Central Oregon
The at:project also coordinates our local trafficking response team, the Anti-Trafficking Alliance of Central Oregon (ATACO). The response team is a multi-disciplinary collaboration of agencies working together to coordinate and leverage resources to provide a comprehensive approach to child sex trafficking and services to victims and survivors. The Response Team works to: identify and recover victims of sex trafficking; proactively investigate, identify, apprehend, and prosecute those engaged in sex trafficking; and provide trauma-informed, victim centered services to restore those impacted by child sexual exploitation.
