¡Recuerdame Me! Remember Me! Let's Honor the Ancestors

Saturday, November 3, 2018, 9:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Come hear about the traditions, help build an "ofrenda," and enjoy music and dance performances in celebration of Dia De Los Muertos.

Last year film goers fell in love with Pixar's COCO. The entire movie was inspired by the Mexican tradition of Dia de los Muertos. Come learn more about this thoughtful and creative way to honor our ancestors. The meaning of each symbol and artistic part of a traditional "ofrenda" (altar/table) will be explained. A large and elaborate "ofrenda" will be available to welcome a (5x7 or smaller) photocopy of your favorite ancestor. Bring a photo or memento to add to the offrenda.

Come enjoy Mexican dance performances by Renee Sanchez and the students from Bear Creek Folk Ballet Group and musical performance by Miguel de Alonso, guitar; Billy Mickleson, cello; and Yolanda Alicia, vocalist
