The Climate Crisis: Discussion, Solutions & Actions
Welcome to Indivisible's 2020 Meet Up Series! Over the course of the year we plan to provide a springboard for exploring different topics of social importance, with the intent of deepening one another’s understanding of what can be done and why we should care: questions of social justice, white privilege, immigration, climate change, gender rights, our threatened democracy -- are in a fundamental way all part of the same dynamic and deserve our urgent attention and action.
Our first Meet-Up will be a panel discussion on local efforts and federal and state legislation to address Climate Change. Our panelists include Oregon League of Conservation Voters, Citizens Climate Lobby and Renew Oregon.
The discussion will be in a panel format. We want this to be informal and encourage an open exploration of ideas and questions with attendees. Our goal is to provide participants with an update on where we are now with climate legislation at the state and federal levels, a deepened understanding of how these efforts are either addressing or falling short in protecting front-line communities, and what specific actions we all can take in order to win the strongest and most equitable legislation possible.
We invite you to come be a part of the solution!
