Sisters Artists Studio Tour
4th Annual Sisters Arts Association Studio Tour held on Sept 26-27.
There are 36 artists in 26 locations, ranging from phenomenal wood sculptor J.Chester Armstrong (the Michelangelo in wood of today) studio west of Sisters, to Danae Bennett Miller, Bronze sculptor (Hiway 126 Sisters West End Roundabout) located west of Tumalo, to Buckeroo Artist Len Babb, off of Lower Bridge Road west of Terrabonne. And 33 more artists located in between these distant points.
Due to Covid 19, we asked for and received the approval of the Deschutes County Covid19 Task Force. As you can see from the location description above, this is a very dispersed event. Each studio is required to have the same safety procedures in place as have now become the standard. The artists will enforce the social distancing and other procedures. We have let them know that Health Authorities might be visiting.
The Studio Tour is a very unique event as the artists are inviting guests into their studios and possible putting on demonstrations. It gives the public a glimpse into the lives of working artists. Central Oregon in general and Sisters in particular has many resident artists, perhaps inspired to live here by the beauty of the surroundings.
There is no cost to the public for visiting the artists that are on the tour. A beautiful full color tour guide will be available soon. Guests select which artists they wish to visit and put together their own tour itinerary.
