Mayflower 400 – Looking Through a Lens
Next year will mark the 400th anniversary of the landing of the Mayflower in the New World. Of course, the New World wasn’t new to the native people of the region; the Wamanoags had lived on what is now called Cape Cod for thousands of years.
A Mayflower and Wampanoag descendant, and 12th generation Cape Codder, Rebecca Locklear will share interesting facts and examine insights about the Pilgrims and Native Americans at the FREE Bend Genealogical Society meeting on October 15.
As a writer and teacher, Rebecca regularly combines history with the arts, so expect to enjoy some interactive activities and many interesting photographs of Cape Cod.
The Bend Genealogical Society (BGS) is for anyone interested in their family history, beginners and experienced researchers alike. We want to help you.
