Genealogy Research: The Ticks & Tallies of the Early U.S. Censuses

Tuesday, February 18, 2020, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Many genealogy researchers scratch their heads when they encounter the 1790-1840 US census records that have only the names of heads of households and many tally marks. In a free live webinar on February 18, you’ll learn tools that will help you understand the ticks and tallies in the early US censuses from Devon Noel Lee, Family History Fanatics. She will trace a famous American family as their documentary trail changes from censuses with names for family members to the unnamed enumerations with ticks and tallies.

The Bend Genealogical Society (BGS) is for anyone interested in their family history, beginners and experienced researchers alike. We want to help you.
