Writers Working - Give Me Money, Give Me Time
Explore how to find money to support a writer's work.
This seminar is open to writers in all genres. Participants should bring their most recent resume and a short list of "dream" projects. If given an endless supply of time, money and resources (collaborators, technology, training, etc), what would you write about/create/learn/research? How much time and money would you need, exactly? What else would you require to make these dreams come true?
As part of the seminar DPL Librarians will highlight grant writing resources available at the Library.
Dr. Emily Carr has said she "writes murder mysteries that turn into love poems that are sometimes ... called divorce poems." She has lived all over the world and is the author of several collections and chapbooks of poems. She earned an MFA in poetry from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, and a doctorate in ecopoetics at the University of Calgary. She is the program director of the low-residency MFA in creative writing at Oregon State University-Cascades.
