According to the Veteran's Administration, 75% of our nation's Veterans are overweight or obese. This is NOT ok. Cindy Maricle, a local professional in the field of natural health and wellness, is hosting a fund raiser to benefit Veterans and/or their spouses who struggle with a dysfunctional relationship with food. The public is encouraged to come and learn about the neuroscience of living Happy, Thin, and Free, through Bright Line Eating. Your participation will support our Veteran Community.
Operation Food Freedom: A Fundraiser to Support Wellness for Veterans.
The event will be held on Saturday, November 10th at the ServiceMaster Education Room, 20806 Sockeye Place, in Bend, OR. There is no admission cost and the event runs from 2-4pm. Healthy hors d’oeuvres will be served, a silent auction will be held, as well as a panel of speakers who will educate on the neuroscience of food addiction, the psychology of dieting, and other wellness topics.
Maricle created the project while participating in a Landmark leadership program. Part of the coursework was to create a project that benefits the community. Landmark is an international training and development company, who is known for offering their flagship course The Landmark Forum (www.landmarkworldwide.com).
According to Susan Pierce Thompson, PhD, neuroscientist and NY Times best-selling author, less than 1/10th of 1% of the 108 million people on a diet in the US will ever reach their goal weight and maintain it for 10 years or more. “I was one of those statistics for 45 years of yo yo dieting. Then I discovered Bright Line Eating, and I am now in a normal sized body” Maricle said. “When I learned that 75% of Veterans are overweight or obese, I decided to do something about it. Hence my project, Operation Food Freedom.”
Bright Line Eating, a revolutionary food program created by Susan Pierce Thompson, is 55x more effective than dieting. The investment for the educational 8 week online Bright Line Eating bootcamp is normally $497, however Operation Food Freedom will give veterans access to this life-changing resource at no cost. “I am grateful they have paid a huge cost in defending our country’s freedom. My goal is to give Veterans access to finding personal freedom with food, through the Bright Line Eating online bootcamp.”
To make a difference, you can donate goods or services to the silent auction, attend the event on November 10th, and donate directly through this link www.gofundme.com/Operation-Food-Freedom All auction donors will be acknowledged on our program, as well as have the option for a brief promotional message at the event.
